We are beginning the process of recruiting participants for this research. In particular, we’re looking for volunteers who are:

  • LGBT+
  • Aged over 18
  • Claiming (or have claimed in the last eight years) welfare benefits, tax credits and/or a state pension
  • Based in England, Scotland or Wales.

At the stage of the project, we are particularly looking for:

  • Lesbians, especially in long-term relationships
  • People of colour & other minoritised ethnic groups
  • People in Wales
  • People who’ve accessed Scottish Social Security.

If this is you, please get in touch! We are able to offer a £20 voucher as a thank you for taking part in an interview. The conversation will probably last around an hour and can be at a time and (online or physical) place of your choice (covid-19 permitting). You can find further information below. If you’d like to take part, or have any questions, please use the contact form below:

Welfare benefits can be any benefit you have received from the Department for Work and Pensions, Job Centre Plus, your local council, or Social Security Scotland.

We’d appreciate it if you could share this with anyone else you know who you think this applies to. Thank you – look forward to hearing from you!

You can download the participant information sheet to learn more about the research here.
